Established in Cumbria for over 25 years and now having practised hairdressing for 30 years Tony and Sasha Mottram are this countries leading hairdressers in "Natural Hairdressing". Our salon is in Cockermouth in the North Lakes along with a laboratory where we make our own label preparations as well as developing products for other salons and clinics.
The Mottram philosophy is to re-establish a healthier and more manageable technique towards natural looking, vibrant hair. To quote Tony "Its through a good balanced diet that the real basis of healthy hair starts. Once you have achieved that you will start to see the benefits in two to three months. Thats when the follicle will respond, its also eating at the right times that matter, and the right combination of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals and vitamins, eaten in the correct proportions. The next step is to wash your hair every day, and condition it separately and always rinse your hair thoroughly each time, to maintain a good healthy scalp. If this is not possible, at least wet or damp down your hair on the days in which you are unable to wash your hair. It is only moisture that gives your hair the elasticity required to be re-arranged. Instead of using a brush, try using your fingers which will give you more bounce than any "tools of the trade" will! It is a proven fact that friction will cause hair loss than any other daily act.
Our approach allows all our clients to continue to achieve the results that we have introduced to them in our salons, and for them to be able to look after their own hair at home, at work and at play. Thus reducing the number of visits made to the hairdressers. Because of our intensive training throughout all our salons, our staff can offer you a unique way of styling. For many years, Mottram Natural Hair have specialised in creating styles for clients that have to take in to account the individual hair and scalp types.
For over 25 years, we have based our hairdressing on these principles and over this time, we have been disillusioned with the available products. We needed formulations that we could rely on and so by joining forces with one of Englands leading Trichologists we were able to put together a range of specialised shampoos and conditioners for most hair types. All our products are now available under our own label for wholesale and mail order distribution. In addition, we provide individually tailored product ranges for specific clients and salons.
